Rental Contract - Lentas Car Rentals – Crete, Greece

1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all rental agreements between Lentas Car Rentals (hereinafter referred to as the “Lender”), based in Crete, Greece, and the Renter for the rental of vehicles.

2. Requirements for renting
The tenant must:
• at least 21 years old ,
• have held a valid driving license (EU or international) for at least 1 year ,
• present a valid passport or identity card.

3. Scope of insurance
All rental vehicles are insured as follows:
• Liability insurance (required by law, coverage for damages to third parties)
• Fully comprehensive insurance with a deductible of 500 €
• Tire and glass protection without excess
👉 No additional insurance is offered.
In the event of damage, the deductible must be borne by the tenant unless a third party verifiably covers the costs.

4. Deposit
A deposit of 500 € by credit card.
This will be fully released within 5 working days upon return without damage. If no credit card is available, an individual written agreement will be made.

5. Vehicle use
The vehicle may only be used on Crete. Travel to the Greek mainland or other islands is not permitted .
Also prohibited is:
• Subletting,
• Participation in races,
• Transport of dangerous goods,
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, tablets that impair driving ability and drugs.
• Driving on gravel roads and non-public roads

6. Fuel control
The vehicle is handed over with a specific fuel level and must be returned with the same level .

Any shortfalls will be charged at the local fuel price plus a service fee of 25 € charged.

7. Vehicle return
The renter is obligated to return the vehicle at the agreed time and location.

Delays of 60 minutes or more will be charged for an additional rental day.

Heavy soiling (e.g. B. sand, food leftovers) will be charged a cleaning fee of 50 € will be charged.

Smoking is prohibited in the vehicle .

8. Behavior in the event of accidents or breakdowns
Accidents or damage must be reported immediately to the landlord.

The police must be notified in all cases and an accident report must be prepared.

Without a police report, all insurance coverage is void.

A breakdown service is included in the rental price .

9. Fines and traffic violations
The renter is liable for all traffic violations , fines or tolls during the rental period.

A processing fee of 25 € may be charged for forwarding traffic tickets.

10. Payment
Payment is made online or upon vehicle pickup in cash or by card.

The vehicle will not be handed over without full payment .

11. Cancellation conditions
• Up to 48 hours ( 3 days) before the start of the rental period : free cancellation
• Within 48 hours : 50 % of the rental price
• Non-collection without cancellation : 100 % of the rental price

12. Data protection
Personal data is stored exclusively for contract processing and will not be passed on to third parties, except to fulfil legal obligations (e.g. B. in the case of traffic violations).

13. Place of jurisdiction and law
Greek law applies .

The place of jurisdiction is Heraklion, Crete .
